About the employer

We are a 0–11 primary school in Newcastle’s West End. The apprentice will join our 0–3 team, supporting children’s learning, communication and development, assisting with observations and planning, meeting individual and self-care needs, and supporting children with SEND to achieve their targets.

Play an active role in helping young children learn, grow and develop, creating fun and engaging learning experiences while supporting their progress throughout the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Working Week Description

We are open from 7.30am-6pm There are shift patterns of 7.30-3.30 8.30-4.30 9-5 10-6 With a 40-min lunch break

Role and Responsibilities

  • Work as part of the 0–3 years team, supporting children’s learning and development.
  • Help children develop their communication and language skills through engaging activities and everyday interactions.
  • Support Early Years Practitioners with observations, planning and activities based on each child’s individual needs.
  • Provide support with children’s personal care and self-care needs, helping them develop independence.
  • Support children with special educational needs (SEN) to work towards and achieve their individual targets.
  • Work closely with parents, colleagues and other professionals to support children’s development and wellbeing.

Training and Support

Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship qualification
