About the employer

Chopwell Regeneration Group (CRG) is a community-led charity working with residents and partners to make Chopwell a thriving and sustainable place. We create opportunities to improve wellbeing, build skills and confidence, reduce inequalities and strengthen the local community.

Support Chopwell residents to improve their health, wellbeing and confidence through accessible community activities, including food growing, cookery, reducing waste, reuse and repair. Build positive relationships and help residents develop skills while completing a Level 3 Community Health & Wellbeing Worker apprenticeship.

Working Week Description

Monday - Friday Post holder might have to work some evenings and weekends depending on when activities take place. There will be flexibility in these cases with regards to how the week is worked.

Role and Responsibilities

 

  • Build positive and supportive relationships with local residents and encourage them to take part in community activities.
  • Help residents identify their interests, strengths and goals, and support them to build confidence, independence and social connections.
  • Support the planning and delivery of welcoming and inclusive community activities.
  • Help deliver green and sustainable activities, including food growing, cookery, reducing food waste, and the reuse and repair of household and small electrical items.
  • Support residents to develop practical skills and make positive changes to their health and wellbeing.
  • Provide information and signpost residents to appropriate local services, community groups and organisations when needed.
  • Work alongside colleagues, volunteers and partner organisations to support community projects and activities.
  • Help promote activities and encourage residents to get involved, including contributing to social media and other communications.
  • Collect feedback and basic information to help CRG understand the impact of its activities and identify improvements.
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety, equality, confidentiality and data protection procedures.
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and raise any concerns with the appropriate member of staff.
  • Take part fully in the Level 3 Community Health & Wellbeing Worker apprenticeship, including training, assessments and progress reviews.
  • Apply learning from the apprenticeship in the workplace and gradually take on more responsibility as your skills, knowledge and confidence develop.

  • Be willing and able to undertake and fully participate in the Community Health & Wellbeing Worker Level 3 apprenticeship.
  • Be willing to learn, reflect on their practice and apply new knowledge and skills within the workplace.
  • Be willing to work flexibly across CRG's community venues and outdoor/community locations.

Training and Support

Learning and Skills apprenticeship programmes are delivered through a mixture of face-to-face and virtual methods by our fully qualified and industry experienced apprentice training team. Using their expert knowledge gained from time spent in the industry, we've tailored our programmes to use the most up-to-date tools and technologies so that the skills we create can be used directly in the workplace. Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 3 Community Health and Wellbeing Worker Apprenticeship qualification
